Barnfield Play Paddock is located in a beautiful, rural location in North Devon, however it’s easily accessible from the A30 and the near by towns of Holsworthy and Launceston. There’s plenty of space for parking at the back of our home and seating benches in the field for your convenience.

 

Karl and I initially set up our 1.5 acre paddock as a secure play area for our own pack of rescue sighthounds. As several of our dogs have little or no recall, having our own secure field with 6.5ft deer fencing meant that we could enjoy watching our dogs run in the safe knowledge that they couldn't escape! We now enjoy spending time with our dogs in a relaxed and stress free environment.

 

As we got to know local dog owners in the area, I was increasingly asked if they could use our paddock, so I decided to set up a secure dog walking field for exclusive use. Since then I have opened the gates to all kinds of dogs who use our enclosed field for all kinds of reasons.

 

So far the paddock has been used by many visitors, each of whom have their own individual needs, for example:

- Training purposes

- Reactive dogs

- Exempted dogs

- Dogs with no recall

- Dogs in season

- Elderly dogs who need a quiet place to play

- Rehabilitation of rescue dogs

- Group and breed meets (by arrangement)

 

We also welcome dog professionals, including dog walkers and trainers by arrangement.
