Barnfield Play Paddock - Terms and Conditions
Dogs MUST be kept on lead when entering and exiting the paddock
New clients MUST walk the perimeter with their dog on lead to ensure suitability for their dog
Upon arrival, stay in your vehicle if the previous client has not left the premises
Clear up after your dog and take waste away with you, including damaged toys/balls
Take all litter home with you
No smoking allowed anywhere on the premises
Children to be supervised at all times
Climbing on fencing or gates is not permitted
Owners’ park at their own risk
Use of the paddock is at the owners’ own risk
If your dog has dug a hole, please fill it in if possible, if not, make us aware
If your dog has been recently unwell, please leave 48 hours before using the paddock
Do not arrive before your booking time. Be back in your vehicle and leave the property no later than 5 mins after your session end time
Payment by internet banking only - to be received within 24 hours of making the booking. If the payment is not received within the time scale, the slot will be released for re-booking
Payment is per owner even if all owners are not present
24 hours notice is needed for cancellation or the full fee will be payable

COVID-19 MEASURES

Hands to be covered when opening and closing the gate - please bring your own gloves, or a poo bag will suffice

Barnfield Pet Services -Terms & Conditions - Client
1. Booking
1.1 New clients and a change in Pet Sitter require an in-home consultation prior to booking. A mileage charge of 40p per mile if the Pet Sitter uses their own transport, or full cost of 2nd class travel by public transport, will be applied by the Pet Sitter.
1.2 A Booking is confirmed by payment and acceptance of a 25% non refundable booking fee due within 7 days of making the booking. The minimum booking period is two days (one night).
1.3 The balance is payable 21 days prior to the agreed booking.
1.4 Barnfield Pet Services accepts bank transfers only.
1.5 Bookings will attract a mileage charge as per 1.1
1.6 Christmas Eve / Day, Boxing Day, New Year’s Eve / Day are charged at double rate.
1.7 Where payment is not received in accordance with these terms and conditions of business, Barnfield Pet Services reserves the right not to proceed with any previously agreed arrangements.
2. Cancellations
2.1 In the event of cancellations that are notified to Barnfield Pet Services 14 days prior to the start of the booking period, all fees less the non-refundable deposit, will be returned, or held over for subsequent bookings.
2.2 Any bookings that are cancelled between 14 days and 48 hours before the start date of the booking, will require 50% payment for services.
2.3 All bookings cancelled within 48 hours will be payable in full.
2.4 In extreme circumstances, if Barnfield Pet Services cannot provide the service agreed, they will endeavour to give 24 hours notice and will fully refund all fees paid.
3. Aggressive Animals
3.1 Barnfield Pet Services will not accept aggressive animals and the Pet Sitter will not take care of dogs covered by the Dangerous Dogs Act 1991.
3.2 Client agrees to be responsible for all costs (including but not limited to medical care, legal fees, etc) if their pet(s) should bite another animal.
3.3 Client agrees that on booking services for their pet(s) that they have represented that the pet(s) to have not shown aggression or caused harm, or threatening behaviour to any individual and/or any pet(s), and the client agrees to contact Barnfield Pet Services as soon as possible if any of these behavioural changes presents itself or if it has the potential to cause harm to any individual or pet(s).
3.4 Any dog demonstrating uncontrollable or dangerous behaviour will be removed to the emergency contact or kennels at the owner’s expense plus an additional transfer fee of £25. If there are no other pets to care for, the client agrees that the service is then terminated with immediate effect.
4. Unforeseen Purchases
4.1 In the event that additional items need to be purchased in the absence of the client – i.e. pet food, litter, cleaning supplies or other necessary items that contribute to the health and wellbeing of your pet, the sitter will purchase these, retain a receipt and the pet owner will be responsible for reimbursement of these items on their return.
5. Keys
5.1 The sitter will obtain one copy of your house keys during the in-home consultation unless you will be present at the start of the assignment.
5.2 The pet sitter will return the keys to you at the end of the assignment or leave them in accordance with your instructions.
6. Updates
6.1 The client agrees to inform the Pet Sitter of any changes regarding your contact numbers, your pet’s care needs, your emergency contact details and any other relevant information.
7. Insurance
7.1 All reasonable care is taken to ensure the integrity and suitability of the care provided. 7.2 The Pet Sitter is required to have valid insurance fit for purpose.
7.3 The insurance only covers a Pet Sitter when they are working on an assignment booked through Barnfield Pet Services and for the services agreed.
7.4 It is the client’s responsibility to ensure that the property, its contents and pets are adequately insured throughout the duration of the assignment.
7.5 Adequate insurance must be in place if you wish a Pet Sitter to drive your vehicle. It is your responsibility to check the validity of the Pet Sitter’s driving licence.
8. Other Scheduled Services
8.1 Barnfield Pet Services does not accept liability for other persons who will be in your home prior to, during or immediately after the services have been rendered.
8.2 Please inform the Pet Sitter at the time of consultation of anyone who may have access to your home while you are away. This includes cleaning services, maintenance personnel, friends, family and neighbours.
8.3 It is understood that you will notify anyone with access to the home that the services of a Pet Sitter have been engaged.
9. Medication and Health
9.1 The Pet Sitter will follow instructions to administer medications as directed but cannot be held responsible for complications that arise as a result.
9.2 If the Pet Sitter is bitten or exposed to any disease or ailment received from the clients pet(s) the client will be responsible for all costs and damages that may be incurred as a result.
9.3 Pets must be clean and free of ticks, fleas, worms or any form of active contagious illness.
10. Pet Emergencies
10.1 You agree to allow the Pet Sitter to make any decisions regarding your pet’s health and welfare, providing it is acting in the best interest of your pet and with the advice of a qualified veterinary surgeon. You agree to pay any vet bills that may be incurred on your return.
10.2 You agree that if your pet attacks, or is involved in a fight with another pet (and/or person), causing injury to that pet (and/or person), you will be responsible for any losses incurred as a result, including but not limited to, payment of veterinary fees in respect of injuries to another animal caused by your pet.
11. Extreme Weather Conditions
11.1 You will entrust the Pet Sitter to use best judgment in caring for your pet(s) and home at the time of bad weather conditions. The pet sitter will try to carry out your instructions to the best of their ability.
12. Pet Waste
12.1 The Pet Sitter will properly dispose of your pet(s) waste. We request that you provide plastic bags for this purpose and indicate where you would like these waste bags disposed of.
13. Collars and Leads
13.1 You must provide secure collars with ID tags (dogs) for all visits. All dogs will be walked on leads at all times unless prior written consent has been given and the Pet Sitter is confident with your dog's recall and behaviour towards other animals.
14. Fences and Cat Flaps
14.1 Barnfield Pet Services does not accept any responsibility or liability for any clients animals that escape or become lost or injured, fatal or otherwise, when instructed to leave the clients animals in a fenced area. This includes electronic, wood, metal or any other type of fence, or in a premises that contains an unlocked cat flap.
15. House Cleanliness
15.1 The Pet Sitter will clean up after your pets to the best of their ability. Please inform them of the designated area for the appropriate cleaning supplies.
15.2 The Pet Sitter is not responsible for carpet/ flooring stains created by your pet(s).
15.3 Barnfield Pet Services request that you provide plastic bags, towels, cleaning products, paper towels and bin bags for the Pet Sitter’s use whilst on the assignment.
16. Household Emergencies
16.1 Details of shut off points for services into the property are to be provided on the Home Information Sheet.
16.2 In the event of a household emergency, your emergency contact will be contacted to arrange any remedial work.
17. Thermostats
17.1 Please leave your thermostat settings within a normal comfortable range.
17.2 If the house temperature is outside of this range, the Pet Sitter will adjust the thermostat to ensure the health and comfort of your pet(s).
18. Changes To Return Date
18.1 Barnfield Pet Services carefully schedules time to serve you and our other clients, therefore there are no refunds or credits for early returns or last minute changes to pet care.
18.2 Late returns will be subject to an additional charge.
19. House Sitting - Ad Hoc
19.1 The Pet Sitter agrees to provide their own food, bed linen and towels required for the stay.
19.2 The client agrees that the Pet Sitter may use the facilities at the property and that the client will provide suitable sleeping and other facilities while the Services are being provided and that these will be functioning throughout (for example this includes, but is not limited to, a WIFI connection, television, heating, toilet and shower facilities, fridge, washing machine, oven, microwave and television). If facilities at the property that the Pet Sitter may reasonably need during the stay do not work, the client will notify Barnfield Pet Services at the time of the booking.
19.3 The client agrees the property will be unoccupied for the whole period of the pet sit.
20. Privacy Policy - SEE SEPARATE PRIVACY POLICY
20.1 All of the client’s information will be kept private and confidential.
20.2 Barnfield Pet Services respects clients entrusting us to allocate suitable Pet Sitters to care for their pets and home.
21. Accompanying Visitors
21.1 The Pet Sitter may have a friend or spouse accompany them during the assignment. This must be agreed with the client in advance and the friend/spouse will be subjected to all necessary checks by Barnfield Pet Services.
22. Liability
22.1 Barnfield Pet Services shall not be liable to the client or be deemed to be in breach of the contract by reason of any delay in performing, or any failure to perform any of it’s obligations in relation to the services, if the delay or failure was due to any cause beyond the pet service provider’s reasonable control.
I, the client, accept the terms and conditions as stated above and I have read the Privacy Policy. I authorise this contract to be valid approval for all future services so as to permit Barnfield Pet services to accept my telephone or email bookings and enter my premises without additional signed contracts or written authorisation.

All hard copies will be kept securely while you are still using our services. Any electronic information is held securely on a password protected computer and stored in the cloud or on a password protected mobile phone. If you stop using our services you may contact us to request that your information is destroyed securely, however records of financial payments made will be kept securely for 6 years as required for tax purposes. You may also contact us directly on 01409 211492 or barnfieldpaddock@icloud.com at any time to ask what information is held and to ask for amendments to be made to current records.
